Spring Hill Fishing Competition

For the first time this Autumn/Winter, Spring Hill is holding 3 competition days on:

  • Saturday 13 October
  • Saturday 10 November
  • Saturday 1 December

The day will start at 8.30am with a light breakfast, tea or coffee and a draw of numbers to allocate swims (14 swims in all)

A maximum of 14 can take part with a minimum of 10 to run it.

It is meant to be a light hearted, social event rather than serious competitive fishing. All are welcome whatever their age or experience.

Fishing will commence at approx 9 am.

A whistle will be blown every 45 minutes to indicate a move of 2 swims. This way everyone has an opportunity to move around the fishery.

Lunch will be served at approx 1.30 pm, which will mark the end of the competition fishing. Fishing can continue after lunch at your leisure.

The winner will be the person with the heaviest bag/limit. On the day the winner will receive a small trophy, with a small trophy going to the person with the biggest fish of the day.

The Overall Winner of all the events will receive the Spring Hill Challenge Cup - to be kept for 1 year.

Planning Concerns

Lee currently lives on site in a caravan so he can manage Spring Hill to a high standard as well as provide security for the site. As most of you will know poaching and fishing have gone hand in hand for hundreds of years.

Unfortunatly Lee has recently been served with an enforcement notice to remove his caravan. If Lee cannot live on site, the fisheries future would have to be revised and most probably be forced to close as it would become finacilly unvialble for Lee to run.

Even though there is conflict over planning consent with the council we are open for buisiness and fishing has never been better. If you would like to support Spring Hill lease contact us but there is no better way to support Spring Hill then to come and have a great days fishing.

Stocking of doubles

Stocking of large fish commences mid September. During the summer months the stocking of large fish stops (4lb and over) but now the weather has started to cool, large fish will be stcked until further notice.
